Turning research into practice.

Understanding how people think, learn, and judge, and designing for the reality of it.

I started with a PhD in psychology, studying how people become expert at difficult things. The questions kept multiplying: what makes judgement reliable, why wrong ideas are so hard to shift, what makes learning stick, how to tell whether help is helping, and what AI changes about all of it. The rest of this site is what I've built while chasing them.

Tools for educators

You know your subject better than anyone. With AI you no longer need to code to turn that expertise into activities students can experience, not just read about. Here are a few I have built for different courses. You can build your own.

Tools for research and evaluation

These are just some of the tools I like to create. Small, self-contained things I build for planning and evaluating research: each one opens in your browser and does the real thing, whether that is running the calculation, plotting your own data, or walking you to a design you can defend.

Research projects

If any of this looks useful, let's talk.

Whether it's evaluation, digital tools, or making the evidence easier to use, I'd love to hear what you're working on.
